It is with great pleasure that the Unicamp Financial Market Group announces another Unicamp Financial Market Week (SEMEF), reaching its 7th edition.
After the successful edition that was SEMEF 2022, we guarantee a SEMEF 2023 as outstanding. With in-person and online events, we promise to impact students and the general public, bringing together big names in the financial market and entrepreneurship.
Ricardo Lacerda
Chosen by the Global M&A Network as one of the 50 most influential investment bankers in the Americas, Ricardo Lacerda is considered one of the leading M&A experts in Brazil. After beginning his academic journey by studying Business Administration at FGV, Ricardo moved to New York in 1994 to pursue his MBA in Finance at Columbia University. Still in the US, the banker joined Goldman Sachs, where he built a solid career. In 2002, Ricardo returned to Brazil to take on the prestigious role of CEO of Goldman Sachs in Brazil, where he achieved excellent results, leading the bank's mergers and acquisitions rankings in the years 2003 and 2004. After his time at Goldman Sachs, Ricardo Lacerda transitioned to Citi Bank Brazil, an institution where he held positions such as Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking for Brazil, and Head of Latin America until November 2009, when he decided to found his own investment bank, the BR Partners group.
Henrique Carsalade
Henrique began his career at CSN, where he participated in various M&A operations. In 2009, he moved to the Brookfield Renewable Energy Group, serving as Director of M&A in the Power & Utilities sector for Latin America. He later became Vice President of M&A, COO of Brazil, and CEO of Latin America within the same company. In 2018, Henrique took on the prestigious role of CEO at Brookfield Brasil, a position he continues to hold. The executive has also been a board member of several companies, including Abiape, Abrace, Itá Energética S.A., Consórcio Igarapava, BRK Ambiental, and Tegra.
Esteban Fornasar
Esteban began his professional journey at Banco Pactual in 1996 as a Senior Equity Trader, later relocating to New York and becoming a Senior Analyst at the same institution. In 2006, Esteban returned to Brazil and assumed the role of Senior Analyst and Co-Investment Manager at the then Banco UBS Pactual. In 2014, the executive joined the Brookfield Agriculture Group, initially as VP of Strategic Planning & Investments and later as CFO. In the year 2020, Esteban Fornasar became the CFO of Brookfield Brasil group, a position he continues to hold today.
Nilton David
With a degree in Electrical Engineering and Economics from USP, and with over 25 years of experience in the Financial Market, Nilton began his career in 1995 at Citibank. He worked in significant financial centers such as New York, London, Mexico City, and São Paulo, which provided him with a comprehensive perspective on the international market. Nilton has held positions in renowned financial institutions including Goldman Sachs as a Trader, Barclays as a Director, Citibank in a prominent role as Managing Director, Canvas Capital, and Morgan Stanley. Currently, Nilton holds the position of Head Trader at Bradesco.
Alessandro Horta
A graduate in Electrical Engineering from PUC-Rio, Alessandro Horta is founder, CEO, and a member of the Board of Directors and Strategic Committee of Vinci Partners. He is also responsible for the Alternative Investments area at Vinci Partners. Additionally, Horta has had a distinguished career prior to his involvement with Vinci Partners. Alessandro has held prominent positions at several other renowned institutions, such as Banco UBS, Pactual, among others, with extensive experience in areas like Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Equity.
Philip Lotz
A graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Philip Lotz's professional journey spans over 40 years of experience in management. He has held prominent positions at various institutions, including Greenwich Capital Markets, Swiss Re Capital Management and Advisory, and Pillar Capital Management, where he assumed the role of CEO, leading the company for 15 years. Throughout his career, Philip Lotz has demonstrated exceptional skills in establishing and managing financial services firms across various asset classes, which has led him to his current position as CEO of hEDGEpoint Global Markets.
Maria Silvia Bastos
A renowned economist and manager, with experience in the public, private, and academic sectors. During her tenure as Municipal Secretary of Finance in Rio de Janeiro, she earned the title of the "1 Billion Reais Woman." Later, as President of CSN, she managed to double the company's revenue in her first year, earning recognition as the "Steel Lady." She began her career at BNDES as the director of major privatizations, such as Usiminas and CSN. In 2016, she returned to the institution as President. In 2018, she assumed the role of President at Goldman Sachs and the following year, she became President of the advisory board of the institution, becoming the first woman to hold such positions.
Renato Ejnisman
Born in 1971, Renato currently serves as the head of Santander Corporate & Investment Banking in Brazil since December 2022. With a degree in Physics and a master's in Nuclear Physics from the University of São Paulo, he holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Rochester. Throughout his career, he spent 16 years with the Bradesco Group, where he was the CEO of the digital bank Next and, prior to that, an executive director at Bradesco, where he led various areas such as Bradesco BBI, Ágora, International & Currency, Bradesco Corporate, Private Bank, and Bradesco Asset. Previously, he also worked at Bank of America in the USA, as well as BankBoston and McKinsey in Brazil.
Marcelo Souza
Marcelo Souza has been a partner at Pátria Investimentos since 2019 and serves as the Head of the Energy Sector & CIO Pátria Core. Additionally, Marcelo is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ARKE and Essentia, and a board member of CBO and Hidrovias do Brasil.
Cristiano Guimarães
Cristiano Guimarães is the Head of Corporate Investment Banking at Itaú BBA, serving large corporations in the areas of Investment Banking, Fixed Income, Project Finance, and Equity Distribution. Additionally, he also oversees the activities of Itaú BBA International in London.
Lucas Lira
Lucas Lira is the current Chief Financial Officer, Investor Relations Officer, and Shared Services Officer of Ambev. He has over 15 years of experience with the company and has held various leadership positions in legal and financial areas.
